Pundit Paul Merson has praised Arsenal target Pedro Neto, believing that he could even play for Manchester City.
The summer transfer window may still be a while away now but some players are already being talked about for big moves.
One of them is Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Pedro Neto.
HITC Football understand that Arsenal have been scouting Neto ahead of a potential summer bid.
We also understand that Wolves are seeking around £60million in order to sell Neto at the end of the season.
Neto has been exceptional this season, racking up two goals and nine assists in 18 Premier League appearances.
Arsenal may fancy the 23-year-old as ideal competition for both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, and Paul Merson has now offered his view…
Paul Merson on Pedro Neto
Merson has spoken to Sportskeeda about this weekend’s Premier League fixtures and is backing Wolves to beat Fulham 2-1 at Molineux.
Merson picked out Neto as a potentially key man, branding him a ‘fantastic talent’.
The former Arsenal star added that Neto could play for anything in the world right now – including Manchester City.
Merson also claims that he can’t see Neto staying at Wolves this summer and even believes that he has now taken a ‘greedy’ streak out of his game.

“Pedro Neto is a player I’ve spoken about countless times this season – he’s a fantastic talent,” said Merson. “He could play for any team in world football including Manchester City, I can’t see him staying at Wolves beyond the end of the season. Before his injury, I thought he was a bit greedy, but he’s come back and even better player and is making the right decisions more often than not,” he added.
Whether City are in the market for another winger is unclear, especially after investing in Jeremy Doku last year.
Arsenal will certainly hope that City back off and don’t challenge them for Neto’s signature this summer.
The challenge for Arsenal would then be to convince Neto that a move to Arsenal is the best step for his career.
A switch to North London would see Neto go from being a first-choice star at Wolves to battling for a spot on either flank.
Neto will have plenty to think about in the coming months but Arsenal should be a prime candidate for his signature.
