Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted to the news that Maurizio Sarri won’t be their new coach.
It was confirmed on Wednesday that the ex-Chelsea boss has taken up the post at Lazio after being linked with the vacant Tottenham post.
At one point, reports in Italy were suggesting that it was highly likely that Sarri was going to become Tottenham’s new manager.
A coach described as being an ‘amazing’ tactician by his former player Jorginho, as quoted by Tuttomercato, it would have been one massive talking point if he landed on their doorstep.
But it seems as though the Spurs fans are glad that he won’t be taking to their dugout any time soon.
Sure, there is frustration that it’s now been 52 days since Jose Mourinho was sacked by Spurs, but it doesn’t seem as though Sarri was on the top of many supporters lists.
At least it narrows the field down for Daniel Levy, who is seemingly finding it difficult bringing in a fresh face that fits the bill at the declining North London club.
This isn’t a Tottenham side on the up, but one that needs picking up, so the new coach has a seriously tough job on their hands.
After Sarri’s name was bandied about, along with many others, another now that seems to be spearing right to the top is that of Paulo Fonseca.
Amazingly enough, he was the man Roma sacked to bring in Mourinho, so it sounds about right that Spurs do the same.
