Speaking on Arsenal’s Twitch channel, Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been speaking about Jack Wilshere after his return to Arsenal training.
The midfielder is still a free agent, but in a bid to keep his fitness up and remain sharp, Wilshere has been welcomed back to Arsenal to train with the first-team.
The 29-year-old is back with a few of his old teammates, and Maitland-Niles says having him back around the club is fantastic.

Maitland-Niles spoke about Wilshere’s return to London Colney.
“It’s great, it’s fantastic. I love Jack, me and him have always been really close since he came through the academy just like me. When I got into the first-team we were really close, we talked all the time. Being back with him in person, being able to have those conversations in person is priceless,” Maitland-Niles said.
“He’s training with us and he’s trying to get back fit which is where he needs to be.
Much needed lift
Amid reports that there was a bit of a rift behind the scenes at Arsenal, Wilshere’s return couldn’t have come at a better time.
The England international is an incredibly popular figure amongst fans and players and his return to training will undoubtedly provide a lift.
Just look at how Maitland-Niles speaks about him, the midfielder seems absolutely buzzing to be back playing with his close friend, and he seems a lot happier with life at Arsenal – let’s not forget that Maitland-Niles very publicly asked to leave the club in the summer.
Wilshere may not sign for the Gunners permanently, but it’s fair to say his return has had an effect on the squad.
