Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised West Ham United central defender Kurt Zouma on the club’s official website.

What’s the story?

West Ham got the better of Liverpool 3-2 at London Stadium in the Premier League last night.

The Hammers were the better team over the course of the 90 minutes and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.

Zouma – who joined West Ham from Chelsea in the summer transfer window for £29.8 million, according to Sky Sports – headed home from a corner in the 74th minute.

Liverpool boss Klopp was impressed by the goal from the defender.

Klopp told Liverpool’s official website: “They scored from a counter-attack and from a set-piece; the second one was exceptionally well taken and a great, fantastic finish from Zouma.”

Deserved praise

Zouma was one of the better players on the pitch at London Stadium last night.

The 27-year-old was strong and solid at the back, and the way he scored was remarkable as well.

The France international is at the top of his game at the moment and has established himself as an important player in manager David Moyes’s team.

For the Hammers to finish in the Premier League top four this season, Zouma will have to be on top form throughout.

West Ham are building on last season, and the London Stadium faithful must be confident and optimistic now.
