Jamie Carragher has hailed former Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud who is ‘continuing to score goals’ after his brace during AC Milan’s 4-0 win over RB Salzburg in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The former Liverpool defender told CBS Sports on Paramount+ (02/11/22 at 10:20 pm) that Giroud has been ‘absolutely fantastic’ at every club he has been at, with two spells at Arsenal and Chelsea during his time in the Premier League.
Giroud spent six years under the stewardship of Arsene Wenger at the Emirates, winning several FA Cup crowns, before leaving in 2018 and heading across London to Stamford Bridge and winning the Europa League and the Champions League in the colours of Chelsea.

That would have hurt the Arsenal fans because that Europa League triumph came at their expense on a night to forget in Baku in 2019.
Well, fast forward to the present, and at the ripe old age of 36, Giroud, after helping AC Milan win the Serie A title last season, is still hitting the back of the net.
Stefano Pioli’s men secured their passage to the knockout rounds by outclassing Salzburg 4-0 and Giroud having a hand in every goal, as Carragher heaped praise on the player.
“I think he is absolutely fantastic this fella,” said Carragher. “He has done it at so many different clubs and different leagues. He continues to score goals.”

UNDERRATED GIROUD
For a player that was mocked on occasions when he was in England, Giroud has moulded quite the career and one many, many footballers across the land would be proud of.
His greatest moment would have, no doubt, come in the colours of France when they lifted the 2018 World Cup.
Added to winning perhaps the biggest and most prestigious trophy possible in world football, he also has four FA Cups to his name, one Europa League, one Champions League, three Community Shields, UEFA Nations League with France, Ligue 1 title and the Serie A title.
