Graham Roberts has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to speculation that Tottenham Hotspur are set to sign Joe Rodon from Swansea City.
The former Tottenham star believes that the 22-year-old Wales international centre-back would be a “fantastic” signing for the North London club.
According to WalesOnline, Tottenham have agreed to pay the Swans an initial transfer fee of £11 million plus £4 million in add-ons to secure the services of Rodon.
Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
Rodon is a very young centre-back, but the Wales international has already established himself in the Swansea first team.
According to WhoScored, the youngster has played four times in the Championship for the Swans so far this season, while in 2019-20 he played 21 times in the league and in 2018-19 he featured in 27 league games.
Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez are the main centre-backs at Spurs, and Rodon would make that area of the squad stronger.
Under Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho, Rodon could improve and develop further as a central defender, and he could prove to be a very good signing in the long run.
