Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has raved about Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, a player the Gers’ bitter rivals Celtic sold, as quoted in The London Evening Standard.

Van Dijk was on the books of Celtic from 2013 until 2015 when he moved to Premier League club Southampton.

As reported by The Guardian at the time, Southampton paid Celtic £11.5 million for the Netherlands international central defender.

During his time at the Celtic, Van Dijk won the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup twice each.

The 31-year-old is now at Liverpool and is one of the best centre-backs in the world.

Van Dijk will line up for Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League game against Celtic’s bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers at Anfield on Tuesday evening.

Former Netherlands international Van Bronckhorst has raved about his compatriot ahead of the match.

And it is very likely that Liverpool will pick up all three points from the UEFA Champions League game against the Gers at Anfield.

After all, Liverpool are the better team.
