Joao Palhinha is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League, and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been urged to try to sign the Fulham star.
BBC Sport pundit Robbie Savage believes that Fulham and Portugal international defensive midfielder Joao Palhinha is perfect for Liverpool.
The former Derby County player has said that Palhinha would fit in nicely alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister in the Liverpool midfield.
The Reds signed midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool told to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham
Savage said about Palhinha on BBC Radio 5 Live Sport, as transcribed by RTK: “He’s a very good player.
“He was going to Bayern and the move fell through. Fantastic player.

“Liverpool have transitioned well in those areas, there is more dynamism in there, Szoboszlai and Mac Allister are good acquisitions, recruitment has been good and I think that has gone under the radar really.
“But I think Palhinha would be a fantastic fit for Liverpool.”
My View: Joao Palhinha would be a good signing for Liverpool
In my opinion, Joao Palhinha would be a good signing for Liverpool.
The Fulham star is one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League.
The Portugal international is at the top of his game at the moment.
Palhinha is 28 now.
Having been a success with Fulham in the Premier League, I believe that he would be able to make an immediate impact at Liverpool.
However, I do not think that Fulham will sell Palhinha in the January transfer window.
Why would the Cottagers sell one of their best players in the middle of the season?
If Liverpool wanted to sign Joao Palhinha, then they would have to wait until the summer of 2024.
Palhinha has made 41 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The defensive midfielder has scored four goals in those games.
