Celtic central defender Kristoffer Ajer has praised Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard in VG.
Ajer plays with Odegaard for the Norway national football team, and the 22-year-old has said that the Real Madrid-owned youngster is “fantastic”.
Norway head coach Stale Solbakken said on Friday that Odegaard – on loan at Arsenal from Madrid at the moment – is the new captain of the national football team, as quoted in VG.
Ajer, who played with Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney at Celtic before the Scotland international moved to the Gunners in 2019, has praised Odegaard, and believes that the 22-year-old deserves the captaincy.
The Celtic star told VG about Odegaard: “A fantastic guy who really deserves the captaincy role.”
Big responsibility
Odegaard is only 22 years of age, and it is a huge responsibility for the youngster to be made captain of his national team.

Perhaps this will elevate the youngster and help him step up his game in the coming weeks and months.
The youngster scored a superb goal for Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday, and perhaps that is a sign of things to come from him.
According to WhoScored, Odegaard has made three starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League, and has scored one goal in three Europa League games for Arsenal since his loan move from Madrid in the January transfer window.
