Speaking on The Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Kevin Campbell has been discussing Arsenal’s win against Brentford at the weekend.
The Gunners were an absolute joy to watch at the weekend against the Bees, winning 3-0 against their London rivals.
Arsenal were well on top against Brentford at the weekend, and according to Campbell, the Gunnners’ dominance was underlined by the moment 15-year-old Ethan Nwaneri came off the bench.

What’s been said?
Campbell discussed the moment the teenager was subbed on.
“Great win, great fanbase and we could even bring a 15-year-old on who is still at school. That’s how dominant we were. That’s how dominant we were. Normally he would just sit on the bench, but we were so far ahead we were so dominant, and what a moment for this young man and his family. A fantastic moment, he made his debut and he’s still at school, fantastic. This is what Arsenal is about. We’re building something,” Campbell said.
Showing off
With all due respect to Nwaneri, Arsenal wouldn’t sub on a 15-year-old in a game that was hanging in the balance.
In all honesty, Arsenal bringing on a player this young in a Premier League game is bordering on showing off. The fact that they could comfortably outplay the Bees with a schoolboy on the pitch just went to underline how dominant the performance was, and, of course Nwaneri more than held his own during his cameo.
Arsenal seem to have plenty of faith in their youth, but it does have to be said that you can afford to roll the dice on a player like this when your whole team is on top of their game.
We may see plenty more of Nwaneri in the coming weeks, especially if Arsenal’s first-teamers continue to play this well.
