Chelsea could not win against Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, but one positive from the London derby for the Blues was that Nicolas Jackson scored for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Nicolas Jackson found the back of the net for Chelsea in the 35th minute. The 22-year-old Senegal international striker scored with a header. Malo Gusto provided the assist.
Praise for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson
Former Brighton and Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray was following the match for BBC, and, as you can see below, the pundit was impressed by the way that Jackson scored against Brentford.
Murray said about Jackson’s headed goal in the first half on BBC Final Score: “It’s a fantastic header. It’s a great ball from Gusto and Jackson is able to read the flight of it all the way onto his head. He hangs up and finds the back of the net.”
My View: Boost for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson
In my opinion, the goal against Brentford will boost the confidence of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.
The 22-year-old has not always had the best of times for Chelsea this season. He has got into good positions and has got chances, but the Senegal international striker has not always found the back of the net.

Jackson was among the goals for Chelsea in their win against Leeds United at Stamford Bridge in London in the FA Cup in midweek.
And, now on Saturday afternoon, the £31.8 million (The Guardian) forward found the back of the net against Brentford in the London derby.
Jackson is slowly creeping up towards double digits in terms of goals in the Premier League, and that is very positive and encouraging.
Let us not forget that he is only 22 now. This is Jackson’s first season in the Premier League. So, if he ends up with 12 or 13 league goals this campaign, then it will be a job well done for the Senegal international.
