Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Alan Shearer has been analysing Arsenal’s star man, Bukayo Saka.
Shearer was taking a look at some of the Premier League’s best young players this term, and inevitably, the conversation turned towards Saka.
Shearer is clearly a big fan of Saka, but he believes that his end product needs to improve in a similar way to Mason Mount’s.
What’s been said?
Shearer had just been analysing Mount in the video, claiming that his end product needs work, and he came to the exact same conclusion with Saka.
“Next on our shortlist is Bukayo Saka. This lad has been played all across this Arsenal team, excelling at left-back, in midfield and on the wing,” Shearer said.
“Like Mason Mount, his end product needs to be worked on, but he makes up for that with crisp passing and fantastic defensive work. The question with Saka is what is his best position? He’s got what it takes to have a great career, but where will we see the best of him going forward?”

Last piece of the puzzle
Saka has everything to be an absolute star, but as Shearer says, his end product needs work.
He’s shown everyone just how talented he is this season, but five goals and three assists in the league isn’t the best return for a player of his quality.
He needs to work on scoring and assisting more, and once he manages to get that area of his game down to a tee, he’ll be a force to be reckoned with.
A number of young players struggle with scoring and assisting, as Shearer says, Mount is in the same boat, and hopefully, their coaches can work to improve those areas of their game.
