Reported Leeds, West Ham and Newcastle United target Matthew Sorinola has four assists in just three days this week while earning rave reviews from MK Dons boss Russell Martin, via the MK Citizen.
If the 20-year-old defender is really set to depart the League One outfit this summer, he is certainly going out in style.
There are no transfer requests, no high-profile strops; just a series of hugely-impressive performances from one of the Football League’s most exciting young full-backs.
Sorinola, a free agent in July, produced a hat-trick of assists in MK Dons’ dramatic 3-2 win against Accrington Stanley on Saturday, setting up Matt O’Reilly’s stoppage-time decider with a glorious right-footed cross.
And, as Plymouth Argyle arrived at the Stadium:MK on Tuesday night, Sorinola was at it again, setting up a fourth goal in the space of just three days.
“The beautiful thing about Matty is that we haven’t been able to play him as much as we wanted, but he’s bounced back. He’s so laid back which helps him on the pitch. There aren’t many like him,” MK Dons manager Martin explained.

“We ask him to take more risks and to commit more of himself in the final third and he’s doing that. Physically it’s tough but he’s so reliable defensively, so when he adds at the other end for us, it’s fantastic.”
According to TEAMtalk, Premier League clubs Leeds, Newcastle, West Ham United and West Brom are queuing up to sign Sorinola on a free this summer. The one-time Fulham youngster also has admirers at Crystal Palace and Burnley.
And while there have never been any doubts about Sorinola’s defensive abilities, it is his productivity at the other end that continues to catch the eye.
Given that Marcelo Bielsa, David Moyes and co demand so much creativity from their full-backs, Sorinola’s impressive tally of assists stands him in good stead ahead of a summer switch to the top flight.
