Writing in his predictions column for BBC Sport, Chris Sutton has tried to predict the result of Leeds vs Manchester United this weekend.

On paper, this game should be the easiest to predict this weekend. After all, we saw these teams face each other just a few days ago and we have a general idea of what the game will look like.

However, this is a derby game involving a managerless team, anything can happen, and Sutton has predicted something of a shock result here.

Sutton predicts 2-1 Leeds win

The pundit gave his verdict on how this game will turn out, stating Leeds will win 2-1.

“It’s very difficult to predict this game because there are so many unknowns – Wednesday night showed that anything could happen, and you could make a case for either side to win it whether Skubala is still in charge or not,” Sutton wrote.

“I am going to go with Leeds, though. They have got some good players and they are going to have a day soon where they do more than just perform for patches of the 90 minutes.

“Their fans will make a difference too, because Elland Road will be absolutely bouncing.

“I guess we will probably see a fragile Leeds too at some point of the game, and I don’t trust their backline so I think Manchester United will score – but the home crowd can help their team through it.”

Every chance

Leeds have failed to beat Manchester United since they returned to the Premier League, but this represents a good chance for them to get that first victory on the board.

United are without their two starting midfielders once again, and, as Sutton says, the crowd will be a huge factor – alongside the new manager bounce Leeds seem to be having.

Leeds have a real shot at getting three points here.
