The Wolverhampton Wanderers lynchpin and Molineux fan favourite played the full 90 minutes for his nation.

A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Portugal fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ruben Neves’ performance in the reigning European champions’ 5-1 win over Lithuania on Tuesday night.
While Cristiano Ronaldo understandably stole the show which his four-goal haul and Bernardo Silva provided two assists for the Juventus man, Neves nonetheless did his bit on the night as he played several passes round, did the simple things well, and played the full 90 minutes for Fernando Santos’ side.
Here is some of the reaction on social media to what fans made of Neves’ display:
Portugal opened the scoring through Ronaldo’s early penalty, before Vytautas Andriuskevicius equalised, but the Juve man hauled his side back in front as his 20-yard shot went in off the head of Lithuania goalkeeper Ernestas Setkus.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid man then scored two more from Silva passes, before William Carvalho’s injury-time fifth ensured that what could have been a frustrating night for the Iberian nation ended up a job very well done.
The result keeps Portugal in an automatic qualifying place, five points behind Group B leaders Ukraine, while on the domestic front, Wolves are in Premier League action on Saturday afternoon as they host Chelsea at Molineux.
