The Hammers academy graduate remained an unused substitute last night in the Euro 2020 qualifying loss.

A number of fans have been commenting on Twitter regarding West Ham United ace and Charlton loanee Josh Cullen not being named in the Republic of Ireland starting XI for their Euro 2020 qualifying loss to Switzerland.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who came through the Hammers ranks, has been impressive for the Addicks this season, playing every minute of their Championship games since his arrival at the club ahead of their second fixture.
Despite Cullen’s talents and form, however, Mick McCarthy did not pick him for the big game against the Swiss and he remained an unused substitute as the Irish fell to a 2-0 defeat, leaving them facing a crunch tie against Denmark in Dublin next month in order to qualify for the finals proper next summer.
Here is some of the reaction on social media:
Haris Seferovic’s 16th-minute strike proved the difference between the two sides, before the home side sealed the win thanks to Shane Duffy’s own goal.
Up next for Cullen and his current side is the Championship meeting with Derby on Saturday, while West Ham travel to Everton in the Premier League that same day.
