The Baggies ace has been recovering from surgery but his return for The Hawthorns side now seems imminent.
A number of West Bromwich Albion and Egypt fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ahmed Hegazi’s return to action as he featured for his nation on Monday evening.
The Baggies ace completed 90 minutes and helped keep a clean sheet as he helped the Pharaohs to a 1-0 friendly victory over Botswana at the Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.
Hegazi played 49 games for club and country last season but an ongoing ankle issue that was “managed” throughout 2018-19 required surgery, West Brom head of sports science & medicine Andrew Leaver said in July.
Originally set a provisional return date of September, the 28-year-old’s return to action for Egypt bodes very well in terms of what he’ll be able to provide for club and country this season.
Indeed, with West Brom top of the Championship at present, Hawthorns head coach Slaven Bilic will have a selection headache of the good kind going forward.
