Last January, the Cherries ran out 3-0 winners over the Blues. This January, a 4-0 win. Needless to say, Twitter went into meltdown on Wednesday night.

When Bournemouth claimed a 3-0 win at Chelsea last year in January, it was a shock result, but fans could have been forgiven for thinking it was a one-off result, a flash in the pan.

However, the Cherries have bettered that result in this year’s January fixture, running out 4-0 winners over Maurizio Sarri’s beleaguered charges at the Vitality Stadium.

After a goalless first half, Joshua King scored either side of David Brooks’ composed finish, putting Eddie Howe’s side three to the good by the 75-minute mark.

Charlie Daniels then added a fourth as the Cherries condemned the visitors to a second consecutive league defeat and sparked frenzy among fans of various clubs on social media.

Bournemouth fans were obviously elated with the superb win and with lightning striking twice, while Chelsea supporters were understandably either upset or furious with their side and/or manager for an abysmal result.

Meanwhile, some Arsenal and Manchester United fans thanked the Cherries for opening up the race for the Premier League’s top four once again, not to mention humiliating their shared rivals.
