West Ham United and Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Che Adams.
With the transfer deadline coming on Thursday, plenty of Birmingham fans appear to fear that Che Adams’ superb goal on Tuesday could prove to be his parting gift amid speculation the likes of West Ham and Southampton want the striker.
The Daily Star reported that the Hammers are plotting a £10 million bid for the 22-year-old, while Sky Sports suggested that the Saints were looking to enter talks with the Championship side over a move for the forward.
Both those reports emerged before the Blues faced Swansea at the Liberty Stadium last night. So if the Premier League club were at all sitting on the fence while deciding whether to make a potential bid, it seems entirely possible that their mind could have been made up after his display in the 3-3 draw.
Adams was exceptional for Garry Monk’s side. The youngster showcased both sides of his game, producing a stunning goal during the second-half and showing all of his tenacity to get stuck in and help out a Blues side that were reduced to 10 men before the break.
Adams’ goal saw the forward cut inside from the edge of the box and curl a delicious effort into the opposite corner that looked set to be the winner until the visitors conceded a 94th minute equaliser.
Unsurprisingly, the Birmingham fans on social media were lauding Adams’ display, urging the club not to sell him before Thursday’s deadline – especially with the play-off places not out of reach by any means.
Some fear that the goal will prove to be Adams’ way of signing off, while a couple of Southampton fans also commented on his latest performance.
