Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in the Watford sensation.

Abdoulaye Doucoure is a man who seems unlikely to be at Watford next season, amid speculation linking him with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to The Mirror, the powerful midfielder is valued at around £40 million by the Hornets, and Liverpool and Spurs will have to spend big to sign him this summer.

Doucoure, signed for just £6 million in 2016, sent an emotional tweet to his followers prior to the visit of Newcastle United today – their last game at Vicarage Road this season – in which he thanked the Watford fans for their support during a turbulent campaign.

And fans of the London club have interpreted it as a goodbye message from the 25-year-old powerhouse.

Here is their reaction to his tweet:

If it’s a choice between Liverpool and Tottenham, the North Londoners might be disappointed in the end.

In March, the Frenchman told Canal Plus that it was his “dream” to play for the Anfield club and therefore Spurs fans shouldn’t get their hopes up, if Jurgen Klopp’s side are genuinely interested.

It is perhaps testament to his impact in English football that he reportedly has the choice of two such stellar clubs within two years of arriving from Rennes.
