Northern Ireland had to leave it late to ease the nerves against San Marino in their latest World Cup qualifying match.

A first-half penalty from Steven Davies was all they had to show for their efforts until the 79th minute, when three quick-fire goals ultimately secured a comfortable victory.

Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas started but he did not have the best match and Northern Ireland’s most effective football came after he left the pitch.

Dallas has been in and out of the Leeds squad this season but has started the Whites’ last five matches, helping them pick up 12 points in the process.

The problem is, the 25-year-old is yet to score or assist in nine matches in all competitions and if he does not up his game he will risk slipping down the pecking order at Elland Road.
