The Newcastle United man appeared to struggle on international duty.

Some Republic of Ireland fans on Twitter are ripping into Newcastle United centre-back Ciaran Clark on Twitter.
The Newcastle defender started and finished last night’s 4-1 mauling by Wales, in which Martin O’Neill’s side were 3-0 down within 37 minutes.
It wasn’t a great night for any visiting player, but it looked particularly difficult for Clark, who was somewhat guilty for allowing Gareth Bale to cut inside on to his wand of a left foot to rifle home the hosts’ second of the evening.
And here is how some Irish fans are reacting to his all-around performance:
Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez spent £5 million [Sky Sports] on Clark in the summer of 2016, but the Spanish manager clearly doesn’t rate him any longer.
Benitez signed not one, but two centre-halves in the summer, and the former Aston Villa star is fifth-choice central defender, if everybody is fit.
Clark is behind Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Federico Fernandez and Florian Lejeune – presently injured – in the pecking order.
He was given a chance by Benitez in the 3-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup last month, but let the opportunity pass him by – as many of the Magpies did that night – but you wonder if a January exit could on the cards, unless a drastic upturn in fortunes comes about.
