Newcastle United have been repeatedly linked to the Danish striker.

A former Newcastle United target is being criticised on Twitter.
Nicolai Jorgensen was heavily linked with a move to Newcastle last January but, according to The Guardian, owner Mike Ashley was unwilling to sanction the £20 million bid.
And many fans of the St James’s Park might be secretly delighted that their controversial owner never pulled a trigger – because United might’ve dodged a bullet.
The Feyenoord striker was in action for Denmark on Monday as the Republic of Ireland held them to a 0-0 draw in Aarghus.
The 27-year-old could and probably should have opened the scoring after picking Richard Keogh’s pocket, but Jorgensen could only hit the post.
Here is how Newcastle fans and neutrals reacted to his performance last night:
Jorgensen has only managed nine goals in what’s been a very disappointing 2018 and, simply put, Newcastle would’ve been mad to pay £20 million for him.
He has also spent much of this season on the sidelines due to injury and it’s clear that Rafael Benitez is better off with Salomon Rondon, who scored his first two Premier League goals of the season prior to the international break.
