Tottenham Hotspur sold Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur fans may want to look away, after Kieran Trippier’s performance for Atletico Madrid last night once again received rave reviews.
Trippier helped Atleti come from 2-0 down against Juventus to claim a point, just after Tottenham had struggled against Olympiacos.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side had been forced to start with Davinson Sanchez at right-back, such are the current shortage of options in the position at Hotspur Way.
And Trippier showed Spurs what they were missing by putting in an excellent display for Diego Simeone’s side.
Trippier set up Atleti’s equalising goal, as he continued to impress in Spain.
The reaction to the former Spurs man’s performance was highly positive, and may see some supporters question why Trippier was sold.
It’s fair to say that Trippier’s form had dipped at Spurs throughout last season, but his move to Spain seems to have given him a new lease of life.
Tottenham still haven’t settled upon their replacement for Trippier, as a lot of options have been tried in the position.
Sanchez, Serge Aurier and Kyle Walker-Peters have all been given game time at right-back for Spurs so far this season.
