Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks was recalled to the international set-up by England manager Gareth Southgate this month.

Neutral supporters have slammed Jamie O’Hara after he stated that England should start the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder and that he reminds him of Michael Carrick.
Gareth Southgate recalled Winks to England’s squad after he was left out of their UEFA Nations League outing in Portugal during the early part of the summer.
He didn’t start England’s 4-0 win against Bulgaria over the weekend, with Southgate opting for Jordan Henderson, Declan Rice and Rose Barkley instead.
But ahead of the Three Lions’ clash against Kosovo, O’Hara told TalkSport that he wants Winks to start in the holding role for his country, comments which have drawn criticism from fans.
It is fair to say a number of supporters weren’t too keen on Winks starting as they didn’t understand what he brings to the table.

Winks is a tidy footballer, who can bring the ball out of tight areas, start attacks from deep and find space for his more attack-minded teammates.
If he were to start for England then he would more than likely be challenging West Ham’s Rice for a starting role, but it could be argued that he is more defensive-minded than his London counterpart.
Nonetheless, after starting on a regular basis for Mauricio Pochettino this season, Winks has earned his recall and he will be hoping he can push for that ticket to next summer’s European Championships.
