The Tottenham Hotspur player started for the Three Lions at the weekend but what did the fans think of his showing?
Tottenham Hotspur player Eric Dier has had a somewhat erratic campaign for his club, with some fans criticising the youngster for his below-par performances at the back.
The problem is Spurs now have Victor Wanyama bossing things in the centre of the park, leaving Dier to only play sporadically in a position he looked to have made his own.
Not so with England, where the Tottenham man was allowed to play further forward, dictating the play in the process.
Still only 23, Dier looks set to play a vital role for his country for the next decade, and he will be hoping to have an equally important role for Mauricio Pochettino’s side despite the added competition for places at White Hart Lane.
Dier had a superb passing accuracy on Sunday, misplacing just three per cent of his efforts all evening. The problem is, it seems some fans are still hell bent on slamming him despite evidence to the contrary.
