The Celtic gem had a very tough time on international duty last night.

It’s been a mixed few days for Celtic centre-back Kristoffer Ajer – a very mixed few days indeed.
The 20-year-old defender was arguably Norway’s best player last week in a narrow 2-1 defeat by Spain in Euro 2020 qualifying. Despite the result, the Celtic stalwart dazzled and ensured Alvaro Morata barely had a kick.
On the other hand, last night wasn’t so good for Ajer.
Norway played out a crazy 3-3 draw with Sweden, who scored twice in the last five minutes to lead 3-2, but Ajer’s side snatched a last-gasp equaliser.
Ajer, brought to Celtic by Ronny Deila in 2016, conceded a penalty which was missed by Andreas Granqvist and was overall very erratic – the opposite of his display against Spain.
Norwegian publication Dagbladet gave him a disappointing 4/10 and a few fans on Twitter noted his struggle – including one who said he was ‘all over the place’.
It’s not exactly encouraging from a Hoops perspective, given that the Parkhead side host Rangers in an Old Firm clash this weekend.
Ajer has been bang in form for Celtic in recent weeks, but if Neil Lennon has the chance to partner Filip Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata – who withdrew from Belgium duty at the weekend – in central defence then he might well take it.
