Wales slipped to third in their World Cup qualifying group after they could only draw 1-1 at home to Georgia on Sunday evening.

The hosts’ goal came courtesy of former Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale, but that was not enough for Chris Coleman’s side to secure all three points, with Tornike Oriashvili levelling for the unfancied visitors.

It was disappointment for Spurs full-back Ben Davies, who was unable to help his country to victory in the absence of key men Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen.

Davies featured as a centre-back for Chris Coleman’s side, and he will have no doubt been grateful for the minutes after struggling for game time at Tottenham this season.

The 23-year-old has started just twice in the Premier League, although he has featured in both Spurs’ Champions League group games to date, and while Danny Rose has blossomed into one of the best full-backs in the country, Davies can still expect more chances in the months ahead.

When it comes to his country, he is a regular starter, and after the match against Georgia we took to Twitter to see what fans thought of the Tottenham defender’s latest showing:
