Wales and Serbia played out a 1-1 draw in their World Cup qualifying match at the weekend, with Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey opening the scoring for the Dragons before Newcastle United’s Aleksandar Mitrovic equalised for the hosts.

Among the other players on show was Tottenham Hotspur left-back Ben Davies, again playing in a back three alongside Ashley Williams and James Chester.

The 24-year-old has made the position his own and he also impressed in the second half of the domestic campaign, stepping in for the injured Danny Rose at Tottenham and proving his doubters wrong in emphatic fashion.

Tottenham have two of the best left-backs in the league on their books and when Rose returns to full fitness it will be interesting to see how Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino keeps them both happy.

With four trophies to compete for, it should not be too difficult however Davies will not want to give up his starting spot without one hell of a fight.

The Welsh international has featured 90 times for Tottenham to date, including 34 times last season, and his ability to play in a back three also came in handy as Pochettino experimented with formations as they pushed Chelsea for the title.
