Hourihane came off the bench during Ireland’s draw against Poland.

Aston Villa midfielder Conor Hourihane came on in the 73rd minute of Ireland’s 1-1 draw against Poland in a friendly match in Wroclaw – but some Ireland fans believe the midfielder is holding back on the international scene.
Hourihane, 27, has clocked up just seven caps for Ireland, with his latest two coming this week against Wales and Poland as Ryan Giggs’ side earned a 4-0 win.
Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich robbed Ireland of a win away from home, equalising in the 88th minute to draw 1-1 as Hourihane replaced the impressive Millwall star Shaun Williams.
Known for his wand of a left foot and goalscoring antics from central midfield, Hourihane has been largely hit and miss throughout his 71 career appearances for Aston Villa – scoring 13 goals and creating seven.

It is a similar theme with Ireland, as Hourihane is unable to produce his best on a consistent basis though it is evident that he is more than capable of producing glimpses of excellence.
Ireland fans reacted to Hourihane’s display against Poland, with many very critical of the Aston Villa star. Many believe that Hourihane does not have the correct manager’s ahead of him, while some believe Williams is simply better.
