Wolves ace Romain Saiss was involved in a dramatic World Cup match for Morocco against Spain last night.
Saiss was making his second start of the tournament and played at centre-back against the 2010 World Cup winners.
It should have been a daunting prospect for a player more used to playing in defensive midfield, but he coped superbly.
Morocco were unfortunate not to win, being pegged back twice for a 2-2 draw.
Spain needed a last minute VAR assisted goal through Iago Aspas to rescue a point, and book their place in the last 16 against hosts Russia.
Saiss prevented a certain first half goal when he cleared a Spain effort off the line.
Wolves have good options in central defence already, but Saiss’ ability to cope on the big stage against top level opponents shows he can be used as a trusty option in an emergency.
Fans of Wolves were impressed with his performance and they were not the only ones.
