West Ham’s Manuel Lanzini is bidding to earn a starting spot at the World Cup.

Manuel Lanzini was in action for Argentina last night as they warmed up for the World Cup.
Lionel Messi predictably stole the show against Haiti, scoring a hattrick as his side scored four.
Lanzini is just hoping to earn a starting spot for Russia 2018, and was given the nod in the XI against Haiti.

He was selected in a central midfield role, slightly deeper than where he is used to playing for West Ham.
Lanzini impressed in possession, and while he did not directly influence any of the goals, he certainly helped his case for further starts for his country.
Some fans went further, calling for Lanzini to be given a more prominent role by Argentina, out on the wing in place of PSG’s Angel Di Maria.

Argentina have one more friendly more the World Cup, against Israel in just over a week’s time.
Lanzini will hope for another chance to nail down a spot before their opener against Iceland on June 16.
Here is a look at the reaction to Lanzini’s performance…
