Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb produced an excellent display as German side Schalke beat Nice in the Europa League.
Bentaleb touched the ball 100 times as Schalke earned a 1-0 win, with Chelsea loanee Abdul Rahman Baba scoring a late winner.

They were not the only ex-Premier League duo on show, with Bentaleb’s former Spurs teammate Benjamin Stambouli in the Schalke starting line-up, as well as one time Manchester City prodigy Matija Nastasic.
Mario Balotelli was leading the line for Nice but was unable to make an impact, having one shot on target and picking up a booking.
In midfield Bentaleb was the star of the show, winning four tackles, more than any other player in the Schalke side, while completing 86 per cent of his passes.

Spurs let him leave after he fell out of favour under head coach Mauricio Pochettino, but as they slipped to a 2-1 Champions League loss this week, Bentaleb can at least say he recorded a win in European competition this week.
He has quickly become a regular since signing on loan at Schalke and the move is looking to be a useful one for him.
