Tottenham’s Danny Rose came off the bench for England against Panama.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose opened up on his struggles this season last week, admitting he felt fortunate to have been selected for the World Cup.
Rose made his first appearance at Russia 2018 in England’s 6-1 World Cup win over Panama.

Rose came off the bench with England 6-0 up over Panama for the final 20 minutes of the game, with the match he already won.
He will be disappointed that England conceded their only goal during his time on the pitch and he could not help the team see out a clean sheet.
Rose does offer England a more natural balance on the left side than starter Ashley Young, and if England can get him back to his best, then he would be a superior option.

Tottenham fans have not seen Rose at his best for 18 months now due to a combination of fitness issues and mixed form, and he is still not quite at the level he needs to be yet.
He could be in contention for a start against Belgium in England’s final group game, with qualification already achieved.
During his 20 minutes, Rose managed 20 touches, completing all nine of his passes, but he did not manage to get forward effectively enough to create any chances.
