Southampton winger Dusan Tadic starred as Serbia got their World Cup campaign off to a positive start.
Tadic was a constant threat for the Serbs as they earned a 1-0 win over a competitive Costa Rica side.
Tadic, 29, came into the tournament after an inconsistent season, but one he finished strongly, providing three assists in his final seven games.
He played 83 minutes against Costa Rica, shining alongside highly rated Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Tadic created one chance, and also worked hard defensively, making four tackles and one interception.
There is more to come from this Serbia side, who are now in a strong position to qualify for the last 16.
Southampton retained their status in the Premier League at the end of last season and this gives them hope of hanging onto Tadic no matter how well he plays at this tournament.
