The Everton defender was sensational against Australia.

England took on Australia last night, winning 2-1 at the Stadium of Light. Marcus Rashford undoubtedly stole the show. The Manchester United teenager was awarded the man of the match trophy after scoring his first goal for England with his first shot on goal.
But whilst sentiment saw the 18-year-old collect the accolade there is little doubt who the real man of the match was – Everton defender John Stones.
The centre-back was truly magnificent throughout the game as he continues to push Gary Cahill for a starting place alongside Chris Smalling for England at the European Championships.

It has been a tough season for Stones. He made some mistakes at Everton which soon snowballed into a poor season overall at Goodison Park.
But he probably took much of the slack without fair reason for what was a poor team performance throughout the campaign.
For England he has largely been excellent and yesterday was no different.
Plenty of teams are said to be looking into signing Stones this summer and based on the evidence of last night it is easy to see why.
Stones is a class act and, in this form, should start for England at the Euros.
