Everton defender Michael Keane played the full 90 minutes in England’s win, but received mixed reviews from the supporters.

A number of fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Michael Keane’s performance during England’s friendly with USA, with the Everton star getting mixed reviews for his display.
After an incredibly difficult first season at Goodison Park, Keane has enjoyed a real turnaround under Marco Silva. The former Burnley man has formed an excellent partnership with Kurt Zouma and could be threatening to do the same with Yerry Mina.
Not only do Everton look to be a much better defensive unit than they were last season, but Keane is also contributing at the other end of the pitch with one goal scored and two assists. Only one other centre-back in the top flight has directly provided two goals this term.
And he was rewarded for his form with a call-up to the England squad during the international break, with Gareth Southgate giving him the full 90 minutes against USA at Wembley.

And apart from one mistake which allowed Christian Pulisic to go through on goal – only to be stopped by Everton teammate Jordan Pickford – Keane arguably did very well alongside debutant Lewis Dunk to keep a potentially-lively American attack quiet.
Unsurprisingly therefore, some of the Toffees fans on social media were extremely pleased for Keane and felt that he vindicated his selection with a strong performance in a very inexperienced England defence.

There are some who are much less convinced about Keane having the attributes for international football, but it is unlikely that he will care too much as he continues to rebuild his career this season.
