England’s senior side may have dominated the attention on Sunday as they beat Slovakia 1-0 with an injury-time winner from Adam Lallana, but the Under-20’s were also in action as they lost to Brazil.
Aidy Boothroyd’s side were in action at Kidderminster Harriers’ Aggborough home, taking on Brazil as they look to get in some practice ahead of next summer’s Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.

First half goals from Lucas Paqueta and Malcolm handed Brazil a 2-0 lead, but new Everton signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin headed home in the second half to hand England a consolation in a 2-1 defeat.
England may be disappointed to have lost, but two players certainly impressed in defender Kyle Walker-Peters and striker Calvert-Lewin.

Walker-Peters, 19, has come up through the ranks at Tottenham, and having seen the likes of Josh Onomah and Harry Kane emerge in the first-team setup under Mauricio Pochettino, he’ll be keen to challenge for a spot in the senior side soon as well.
A right back by trade, Walker-Peters caught the eye as England lost to Brazil, with fans taking to Twitter to praise him. Tottenham fans were particularly impressed, comparing him to Spurs left back Danny Rose and backing him to have a real impact at Spurs in the future.

Meanwhile, striker Calvert-Lewin – who signed for Everton from Sheffield United on deadline day last week – showed his quality by coming off the bench and finding the net.
Toffees fans were understandably excited by his performance, and whilst he’s starting out in the Everton Under-23’s, his display against Brazil suggests that he could be a real talent for the future at Goodison Park.
