On-loan Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers impressed for Swansea City on Friday.

The USA international wound up on the losing side as Championship leaders Norwich City recorded a 1-0 victory, but the Spurs centre-back acquitted himself very well.

The pre-match centered around whether the Tottenham youngster could cope with Teemu Pukki, who has netted 24 times in England’s second tier this season.

But the well-built Carter-Vickers, resembling a Rugby Union prop, handled himself well against the red-hot Canaries hitman.

Here’s how Swansea fans reacted to his display:

The 21-year-old hasn’t made a competitive appearance for Tottenham since January of 2017. And being honest, it seems unlikely that he has much future in North London at this moment in time.

Carter-Vickers, whose contract with the Lilywhites expires in 2021, is only 18 months younger than Spurs regular Davinson Sanchez, and 13 days older than Juan Foyth.

Both are lightyears ahead of the Southend-born stalwart, who has seven caps for the United States national side.
