Tottenham Hotspur ace Giovani Lo Celso caught the eye for Argentina as they took on Colombia in the Copa America semi-finals on Wednesday morning.

Argentina saw Brazil beat Peru 1-0 earlier this week, and knew they had to beat Colombia in Brasilia to tee up a final clash against their old rivals.

Lo Celso had arguably the great moment of the first half, picking up the ball in the final third and threading an inch-perfect pass into the path of Lionel Messi.

Messi then picked out Lautaro Martinez to find the net and make it 1-0, but it was Lo Celso’s defence-splitting pass that really set up the goal.

It won’t go down as an assist, but Lo Celso showed exactly what Tottenham fans are seeking.

Lo Celso hasn’t quite managed to live up to his billing since arriving from Real Betis in 2019, but he clearly has great technical ability.

It’s now up to new Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo to get the best out of Lo Celso, and he must have been left hugely excited after the midfielder’s display last night.

Fans on Twitter reacted to Lo Celso’s performance, with non-Tottenham supporters sharing their admiration of the 25-year-old.

Some suggested that Lo Celso was displaying a ‘masterclass’ against Colombia, branding his pass ‘phenomenal’.

Others think Lo Celso is underrated, seemingly believing that Tottenham have a star on their hands if they can bring his Argentina form to the Premier League.
