Tottenham Hotspur’s Moussa Sissoko was in action for France on Friday night.

France and the Netherlands had differing summers; the French managed to win the World Cup in Russia, whereas the Dutch weren’t even at the tournament having missed out on a second major competition in a row.
The two nations were put in the same group for the UEFA Nations League, and Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands have been hugely impressive, beating Germany in Amsterdam last month.
On Friday, Feyenoord’s De Kuip stadium played host to Netherlands v France, and Koeman’s men again turned in a strong performance to claim a 2-0 victory.
The opener came from a piece of poor French defending, as they failed to deal with chipped Frenkie de Jong ball into the box, and whilst Hugo Lloris managed to deny Ryan Babel’s effort, Liverpool’s Georginio Wijnaldum followed up to score from inside the area.
Netherlands pushed for a second and it came late on when substitute Moussa Sissoko tripped De Jong to give away a late penalty, and Memphis Depay stepped up to chip the ball down the middle and give his side a 2-0 win.

Sissoko may have only come on as a substitute, but his performance left many baffled on Twitter after the game, questioning how he is even a professional footballer.
The midfielder has actually been in decent form for Spurs of late and is no stranger to major criticism of his performances from his time with Spurs and Newcastle, but French fans and neutrals suggested that he is ‘stealing a living’, and shouldn’t be in the France squad after a cameo despite as being ‘comedy’.
