Tottenham’s Harry Kane has been nominated for the Sports Personality of the Year Award.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been nominated for the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year Award.
The BBC announced the 12-person shortlist last night, with Kane the only football representative for the main award.
Kane is a two-time Golden Boot winner, and has become a regular goalscorer for England’s national team over the past 12 months.
He is the top goalscorer this calendar year in England, with 30 goals in 29 Premier League appearances, seven more than his nearest rival, Romelu Lukaku.
But Kane’s nomination has not been received well, with fans on Twitter blasting the BBC’s announcement…
Kane may have the votes of Tottenham fans sewn up, but the general public are likely to be tougher to persuade.
Even so, simply being nominated is an achievement for the England striker.
Perhaps if Harry Kane fires England to World Cup glory next summer, he may stand a better chance.
