Jermaine Jenas says that he thinks that Jose Mourinho is going to drop Harry Kane for Tottenham Hotspur soon, as per his comments to BBC Sport.

Tottenham face a hugely demanding run of fixtures in the coming weeks, with Mourinho’s side having to take all almost every top four contender.

It will place a huge work-load on all of their squad, as they look to collect points.

And Jenas feels that Kane simply cannot be expected to start in every Premier League game Spurs have coming up.

He said: “After playing Chelsea on Sunday, Spurs face Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester in the next few weeks, in games that are very specific in terms of their level of intensity.

“The fans might not like to see it, but I think Mourinho is going to have to rest some players at different times.

“It may be that Harry has to step aside for a league game – he has started every one so far – and someone else comes in.

“I know Mourinho talks up the importance of Tottenham’s Europa League campaign, and they also cannot just assume they will brush aside Crystal Palace in the league a few days before they face Liverpool either.

“But I don’t see how he plays his best players in those matches, and still has them at their best for all the big games.”

Kane has had a tendency to pick up an injury mid-season before, so Tottenham will want to carefully manage their work-load.

This season they do also have Carlos Vinicius waiting in the wings, and the Brazilian proved his worth again last night.

Vinicius scored his first two goals for Spurs in their 4-0 win over Ludogorets.

However, with Kane in such good form, Mourinho surely won’t want to consider taking the England captain out of his line-up any time soon, as he has been so pivotal to Tottenham’s play this season.
