Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos made his debut for Colombia on Friday evening, and it was quite an eventful match for the Ibrox star.
Morelos was superb for Rangers last season, and his performances for Steven Gerrard’s side so far this campaign have been very encouraging.
There is no surprise then that the 22-year-old Rangers striker was called up to the Colombia national football team for the match against Venezuela.
The youngster came on as a substitute in the 77th minute when he replaced Radamel Falcao.
The Rangers striker – who has been on the books of the Gers since the summer of 2017 when he joined from HJK Helsinki for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £1.5 million – missed an easy chance minutes after coming when, as the 22-year-old failed to put the ball into an empty net.
Morelos, though, did provide the assist for Colombia’s goal in the 89th minute, although it was a strange one and he probably did not know much about it.
While Morelos has been criticises some fans for his bad miss, there are others who have come to his defence, as shown in the following posts on social networking site Twitter.
