West Ham fans are undecided over whether they want David Moyes to be handed a longer term contract at the club beyond this summer.
The Scot was brought in on a six month contract when he replaced Slaven Bilic in November with the remit to keep the Hammers in the Premier League.
When he arrived the East Londoners had just nine points and were languishing in the bottom three.
Now, with five games remaining, West Ham have 35 points and stand just one win – or possibly even just one point – from securing safety.
It is some turnaround, particularly against the toxic backdrop of supporter protests against the club’s co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold and their vice-chairman Karren Brady.
But some supporters remain unconvinced and feel Moyes sets up his side’s too defensively and bears too many similarities to the divisive Sam Allardyce.
One man who clearly does want Moyes to stay on next season, though, is fans’ favourite Arthur Masuaku, who has lauded his manager in an interview with the East London and West Essex Guardian.
“I feel good,” Masuaku told the EL&WE Guardian.
“At the beginning of the season I didn’t have the opportunities but now, since the coach David Moyes came in, he has given me great confidence, he is using me a lot.
“I knew my time would come if I kept working hard. Now everyone is behind me. It’s a great feeling.
“At the beginning they were asking ‘who is this guy’ and now they know me, they know what I am capable of.”
