Jamie O’Hara has said on talkSPORT (8:43am, May 6, 2021) that it would be a fall from grace if Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy appointed Graham Potter as the permanent successor to Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
According to The Daily Mail, Potter is among the managerial candidates to take charge of Tottenham at the end of the season.
The Brighton and Hove Albion manager is reportedly rated highly by the Spurs chiefs.
Tottenham sacked Jose Mourinho as the first-team head coach last month, with Ryan Mason placed in charge of the side until the end of the season.
Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, believes that it would be a fall from grace if Mourinho is replaced as the Spurs head coach by Potter.
O’’Hara said on talkSPORT (8:43am, May 6, 2021): “There’s a lot of talk about Graham Potter potentially getting the Spurs job. I wasn’t sure. I like the way they (Brighton) play. They do play some decent stuff.
“I don’t know if I am wrong in saying this, but I said it’s a bit of a fall from grace if you are going from Jose Mourinho to Graham Potter.”

Mourinho is one of the greatest managers of all time and is a serial winner. Potter is not at the level of the Portuguese yet, but not many managers are.
Potter is only 45 years of age and is still young in the managerial game. The Brighton job is only the third of his career.
Ideally Tottenham would want a blockbuster name, but they did get one in Mourinho and it did not end well.
Potter is a dynamic young manager who has done well at Brighton, and he is ready for the next step in his career.
Mauricio Pochettino was not exactly a world-class manager when he was appointed in the role at Spurs, but now he is in charge of French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
