Zak Rudden is on loan at Championship outfit Falkirk from Premiership Rangers – and he appears to have a bright future at Ibrox.

Falkirk manager Ray McKinnon believes that prolific loanee Zak Rudden has everything it takes to succeed at parent club Rangers, speaking to the Falkirk Herald.

The 19-year-old striker moved to the Scottish Championship side on loan last August and he has been a revelation in the second tier, scoring 11 goals in 22 games for The Bairns.

As a result, Falkirk didn’t wait around to extend Rudden’s initial six-month loan deal until the end of the season with the club hoping to avoid relegation to the third tier.

The Scotland youth international is due to return to Ibrox in the summer and McKinnon believes the Glasgow giants could have a real star on their hands.

“Zak has been excellent for a young kid. He still has a lot to learn but his contribution has been phenomenal – his work rate, his goals, he’s a great kid around the dressing room – he has everything,” McKinnon said, signing the striker’s praises.

“I honestly think he can make it at Rangers. He is an out and out goal scorer and has a fantastic work rate but he comes alive in the box.

“But when he is in a team which will dominate possession for 70 minutes like Rangers probably do and they’re playing in someone else’s box a lot of the time then that will make him a real handful for teams because he will score.”

Rudden certainly has bags of talent but it remains to be seen what sort of a role he will have at Ibrox next season.

Top scorer Alfredo Morelos told W Radio last week that he expects to have a new club by the start of next season. But Rangers can still call upon the experienced duo Jermain Defoe and Kyle Lafferty.

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers is seen prior to the Ladbrookes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and St Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium on February 16, 2019 in Glasgow, Scotland.
