‘Fake’: Some Spurs fans not having transfer claim from player Nuno let go

Tottenham fans don’t believe Serge Aurier’s comments, where he suggested that he had no intention of signing for Arsenal.

The 28-year-old posted on his Instagram that he wouldn’t sign for the ‘enemy’ after leaving Spurs.

Aurier is now a Villarreal player, after he ripped up his contract in North London on transfer deadline day.

Given that he was a free-transfer, he could have signed for any club that wanted him.

And there were noises that he could swap one London club for another, but instead, he moved to sunnier climates in Spain.

But Spurs fans think that he didn’t move to Arsenal because they didn’t want him, or express an intention to bring him to the club.

After Hector Bellerin left the Emirates, they opted to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu, so his arrival squashed any hope of Aurier joining.

What also gets brought up against Aurier is that he was a boyhood Gooner, but despite that, he still ended up signing for Spurs.

Either way, the right call was made for him to part ways with the club because his error-prone performances weren’t going away and the signs were pretty clear that he had no future under Nuno Espirito Santo.
