Ian Wright has shared on his Instagram story that it’s ‘fake news’ that he seemingly said that it’s a ‘shame’ Emiliano Buendia is going to join Aston Villa over Arsenal.

The Arsenal legend was reacting to quotes emerging on Twitter where it suggested that Wright claimed that he couldn’t understand ‘how Villa can even shop in the same boutique as us (Arsenal)’ amid the rumoured Buendia battle.

Wright made it clear on his Instagram story that he didn’t make those comments about the soon-to-be Aston Villa player by simply posting the words ‘Fake News’.

Aston Villa confirmed on their official Twitter account on Monday that they have reached an agreement with Norwich City for Buendia’s talents.

The Telegraph reported over the weekend that Villa had beaten Arsenal to his signature and they will pay a club-record £33 million fee for his talents.

This is a real statement from Villa because, before the summer transfer window can really get going, those in the Midlands have already landed a powerful blow.

For Arsenal, they are the ones receiving that blow and it’s not the best of starts for their already under pressure and highly-criticised board.

From manager Mikel Arteta, to Technical director Edu, and the hardly-ever-seen owner, Stan Kroenke, they are going to get some serious flak if they don’t pull up trees during this summer transfer window.

Wright himself has voiced his clear opinion on the American’s running Arsenal and its simple words that their supporters would just love.

In the meantime, Arsenal fans have to put hope on individuals who have provided them with no hope for years and years now.
