West Ham United owners are not looking to sell the club, claims Karren Brady.
West Ham United vice-chairman Karren Brady has stated in her football diary in The Sun that the club’s owners are not looking to sell.
According to a report in The Express earlier this month, West Ham co-chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan want to sell their stake in the club.
Sullivan has since told the Hammers’ official website that there are no plans to sell the club, and vice-chairman Brady has reiterated that claim.
“Hammers people are the victims of fake news today,” Brady wrote in her football diary in The Sun. “It is reported that co-chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold are considering offers for the club.
“Totally and absolutely untrue. They have no wish to sell to anyone, let alone the Chinese, who have reasons of their own for wanting to buy a high-profile club. I know both Davids as well as anyone and the club is their complete fixation.”
West Ham are not having a good season and may not end up in the top 10 of the Premier League table.
However, Gold and Sullivan are doing their best and genuinely have the club’s best interests at heart.
For the Hammers to progress as a club, they need to get their recruitment right. The London club should make the right signings in the summer transfer window.
West Ham will return to action next weekend when they take on Everton at the London Stadium in the Premier League.
